Cameraless Animation

Pittsburgh Sound + Image is proud to facilitate the final entry in this year's Carnegie Museum of Art Film Series, "Here or There," with this hands on event.

First, we'll watch classic examples of cameraless animation on 16mm: films by Stan Brakhage, Barbara Lattanzi, Heather McAdams, Norman McLaren, Olga Spiegel, Barry Spinello, and Jennifer Reeves.

Then, the audience will make a film together by scratching and painting on 16mm stock! We'll watch it immediately, that night, and we'll even keep making the movie while we watch the movie.

We'll start at 7:00 and wrap up by 9:00!
